Min Guhong Manufacturing

About the Company

2015

Thirty-seven things that Min Guhong Manufacturing does not do. Because at the time, I had absolutely no idea what I should or could do. Because I believed that for a company, it might be more important to define what it doesn’t do, rather than what it does. Also, it is worth remembering the exact date and time when the PDF file titled “Company Introduction” was first created: October 16, 2015, at 2:05 PM. This memory is especially meaningful because I deeply respect and love Hong Eunju and Kim Hyungjae, who inspired this gesture.

Of course, there was a slightly more conventional introduction too:

Min Guhong Manufacturing is a one-person company that parasitically inhabits Ahn Graphics, an incorporated design firm in Korea. The term “manufacturing” originally refers to the process of producing goods from raw materials by hand or machine. However, in baseball, it can also mean the technique of scoring runs through methods other than base hits—such as steals, sacrifices, and ground outs. At Min Guhong Manufacturing, I use my personal interests as raw material, but above all, we do not produce shower curtains.
