March 5

Min Guhong was born on March 5, 1985. He first conceived of Min Guhong Manufacturing on March 5, 2015. Noticing this repetition, Min Guhong Manufacturing made him a proposal: while he was at it, why not set March 5 as the date of his death, too? This, in itself, could be a product. Aligning his birthday with the company’s founding date, and his death with the company’s closure, would allow celebration and mourning to be taken care of together on a single day. Practical. A fortieth-birthday gift for Min Guhong, befitting a company that pursues practicality over aesthetics.
