Oxygen Generator is the first plant-based product offered by Min Guhong Manufacturing. It works without a manual and never powers off. Users need only provide occasional light and water.

Just as one man is named “Min Guhong” and one company is named “Min Guhong Manufacturing,” a work can be completed by its title alone, and a product by its name. The other candidate names for Oxygen Generator are listed below. Although none was adopted, each could become a product in its own right: an invisible interface that works simply by naming and being named.

- Photosynthesis Module. Naming a plant’s mechanism for survival as though it were a technical device. The word “module” also connects to web components.
- Growth Interface. A slow, responsive interface that responds in proportion to the user’s care. A view of plants as UI and UX.
- Invisible Output Device. A plant’s outputs, such as oxygen and vitality, are invisible but unmistakably present. Output exists; text does not.
- Self-Replication Circuit. Pruning, propagation, the differentiation of stems and leaves… Treating the way plants grow as circuit design.
- Sunlight Detector. Reinterpreting a plant’s inclination toward sunlight as information processing.
- Slow Machine. A living device physically present in 2024 that works slowly but surely.
- Uninterrupted Growth System. A living circuit without a power failure—that is, death. Always on, like a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply system).
